Julianna Raimondo (she/her) recently relocated to Washington DC after graduating from James Madison University (’20) where she received her B.A. in Dance with a minor in Theatre. At the age of 3, she began her training at Nancydance Studio in Jacksonville Beach, Florida and danced in Jax until she was 13. She then moved to Annapolis, Maryland and continued her training at Studio 180 Dance under Katie King, Brooke Newman, Sylvia Whitlock and Breonna Deloach. Julianna is classically trained in ballet, jazz and hip hop, but has a focus in contemporary/modern techniques. Amongst her many accolades at JMU, her 2018 choreography Fiscal Relations traveled to be adjudicated at the 2019 American College Dance Association Mid-Atlantic Conference in Raleigh, NC and was selected to perform in the final gala. She has worked with professional artists including DanceWorks Chicago, Matt Pardo, Emily Cargill & Dancers, and Urban Bush Women, among various others. Julianna has travelled to Durham, NC and New York City to work for and train under the American Dance Festival. In addition to teaching dance, she is the Communications/Archives Intern at Dance Place in Washington DC and an employee of Zeke’s Coffee! She also dances with The Company @ MTPA (Maryland Theatre for the Performing Arts) based right here in Annapolis. She is ecstatic to be joining THE NEWMAN to keep sharing the dance love!
