Lindsey Ray

(THE NEWMAN Company Coach, Hip Hop)

Lindsey Ray (A.K.A Miss Lindsey) began her dance instruction at the age of four at Ballet Theatre of Maryland’s Professional Dance Company under the instruction of Director, Dianna Cuatto of Ballet West. When Studio180 of Annapolis opened, Miss Lindsey furthered her instruction under the tutelage of Owner and Artistic Director, Katherine Carpenter King and Senior Faculty Member, Brooke Newman, and later, Breonna DeLoach and Sylvia Whitlock. She has been classically trained in ballet, contemporary, lyrical, jazz, aerial, hip hop, and musical theater. She was a member and team captain of Studio180’s competition team where she competed in multiple genres and won many awards and scholarships at Regional and National competitions. After graduating, Miss Lindsey moved on to James Madison University where she became a member of Madison Dance Club’s performance team for four years. She was MDC’s head of the hip hop team in her last two years in which she performed and choreographed the team dances. In her last year, she entered one of her choreographed dance pieces in a regional University Dance Competition where she won a top honor for her dance. Also, as a member of Gamma Phi Beta, Miss Lindsey was the lead dancer in each year’s Greek Sing and was head choreographer her senior year. Miss Lindsey graduated from James Madison University with a degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders and a minor in Special Education. She is currently a Speech Language Pathology graduate student at Loyola University.

Dance performance has been a passion that Miss Lindsey has been devoted to and she is incredibly honored to be given the opportunity to be a part of THE NEWMAN!
